From the Ashes: Bertha's Cafe in Maydelle rises after 2014 fire, continues serving community

Bertha Daniel (left) is the owner of Bertha’s Cafe in Maydelle, which reopened in October of 2016 after fire destroyed the previous place of business. Sisters Bonnie Dosser (middle) and Velma Minchew (right) lend a hand, with a little help from Bonnie’s granddaughter Cheyenne Fairchild (back) and Velma’s great-great granddaughter Renee Hinson, age 5 (front).
