Images Speak: Brunt marker formerly dedicated

A small group of Cherokee County Historical Commission (CCHC) members met December 15 on the side of U.S. Highway 69 to formally dedicate the Texas State Historical marker for the Sheriff Bill Brunt murder site. Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell and County Judge Chris Davis joined CCHC member Jim Cromwell prior to the unveiling. Later, about 40 attendees gathered for a reception and program at the CCHC office. Mr. Cromwell spoke and Judge Davis and Sheriff Campbell shared stories as well. Also in attendance was Mr. and Mrs. Hal Brunt attended. Hal is the son of Frank Brunt.
