Driver pinned in crash

Two 18-wheelers collided on U.S. Highway 84 and Loop 343 near BDJ's Monday morning when a gravel truck turned in front of a logging truck. John Oliver, 65, of Lufkin was trapped inside the logging vehicle and was transported to ETMC Jacksonville as a precaution. Kirby Nolan, 48, of Troup was driving the other vehicle and was uninjured. Both the Rusk Volunteer Fire Dept. and EMS responded to the accident. Investigating officer Dusty Lee said both drivers appeared to be negligent in the accident. PHOTO: TARA CROSBY
