m Contractors for Gill Utilities of Henrietta converged on U.S. Highway 84 east of Rusk to repair major damage to power lines. More than 500 Oncor linemen from as far away as Oklahoma and Midland/Odessa descended on East Texas to help repair damage after Hurricane Ike. More than 20,000 customers were without power in Cherokee County after the hurricane struck. By Tuesday, that number was down to 5,700.
