Terry Guinn, chairman, and Jim Cromwell, vice-chairman, of Cherokee County were presented the Distinguished Service Award May 2 at Texas Historical Commission's annual meeting. The award was the 21st for the Cherokee County Historical Commission. Awards were given to Cherokee County in 1977 and 1987 and each consecutive year since 1990. The county historical commission was recognized for its members' efforts in preserving the history of the county and the area. From left are John L.
