Jacksonville High School senior band members show off their 2009 sweepstakes trophy received April 9 in band competition. This is the school's 28th sweepstakes award. The band attended the Region 21 UIL Band Contest in Whitehouse, and received first division ratings in both concert and sightreading. These first division ratings combined with the first division rating of the marching band in October 2008 earned the band the "UIL Sweepstakes Award." Senior students are Alayna Chavira, Chastity Fowler, Justin Ganske, Bahir Green, Jana Hart, Whitney Jay, Kevin Jones, Christy Leon, Flor Martinez, Andy Melvin, Maria Oliveros, Valerie Parker, Anthony Perea, Lucero Servin, J.W. Session, Evan Stamper, Amanda Stewart, Joni Verhage, Tiffany Villanueva, Devron Weatherall and Allie Westbrook.
