Wells graduate honored

Recent Wells High School graduate, Travis Collins, was a "Student Success" speaker July 26 at the Texas Council for Administrators of Special Education (TCASE) Summer Conference in Fort Worth. He was nominated for this honor by Harriet Page, director of the Cherokee County Special Education Co-op and Betty Moore, educational diagnostician. He worked closely with special needs students at his school and created a book entitled, "My Tips on an Autistic Child's Education." He was recognized for the book by Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Wells ISD Supt. Dale Morton and the Wells School Board. Mr. Collins will attend Angelina College this fall. He plans to become a special education teacher. He is the son of Charlotte and Wayne Collins of Wells. From left are Supt. Morton, Ms. Moore, Mr. Collins and Ms. Page.
