DPS troopers find more than 5,000 pounds of marijuana in fake school bus

On Saturday, Oct. 10, a Texas Highway Patrol trooper stopped a school bus marked to resemble a United Independent School District bus on U.S. 59 north of Laredo, which contained 5,408 pounds of marijuana with an estimated worth of more than $1.7 million. The driver fled on foot from the scene. DPS is pursuing several leads in connection with this investigation.
