Kayleigh Christopher, a pre-K student at Rusk Primary School, sat in "the big guy's" lap last Friday, and whispered last minute requests for her Christmas stocking. Most classes at area schools in Cherokee County dismissed classes on Friday for an extended Christmas holiday. Younger students celebrated the end of the first semester with class parties. The weather forecast for Santa's flight will not include snow flurries. Temperatures will likely reach a high of 49 degrees with partly cloudy skies.
