Last Tuesday in Lufkin, the Angelina-Neches River Authority presented awards of appreciation to legislators during a regularly-scheduled board meeting. State Sen. Robert Nichols (left) and state Rep. Chuck Hopson (third from left) received recognition for sponsoring legislation in 2009 which extended construction deadlines for Lake Columbia and allowed the Texas Water Development Board to participate as a partner. Participating in the presentation were Al Chavira, ANRA board member of Jacksonville (second from left); Kelley Holcomb, ANRA general manager (fourth from left), Julie Dowell, ANRA board president and Nick Bruno, ANRA board member of Jacksonville.
