Rusk Intermediate School teachers gather around Becky Whisenant, technical assistant with the Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District and representatives of the forestry office. Fourth grade teachers were given Cherry Bark Oak seedlings to distribute to students at the end of the school day. The students will plant the trees on Arbor Day April 30 or Earth Day April 22. Seedlings were distributed to students at nine Cherokee County campuses.
