l Local contractor Robert Stover uses his track hoe to take down the defunct gas station on U.S. Highway 69 N. in Rusk Monday. The building came down completely after about 20 minutes. Mr. Stover also began demolishing the lower two wings of the old motel adjacent to the gas station on Monday. City officials said the job will be completed within 10 days, as mandated by state law. The project was made possible by a blight removal grant the city recently received from FEMA. Other demolition projects have been completed and more are being planned.
