Members of the Rusk School board all attended the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) summer leadership institute June 17-19 in Fort Worth. They were among 1,000 new and veteran school leaders receiving training on effective board governance. Speakers included Manny Medrano, KTLA news reporter from Los Angeles, Calif. and former trial lawyer and Jonathan Kozol, writer, educator and activist. From left are Britt Patterson, Board President Dr. Anthony Holcomb, Secretary Frances Long, Dana Young, Tracy Session, Roy Cavazoz and Vice-president Rodney Hugghins.
