A Circle of Ten, Inc. of Jacksonville awarded three Alto community-based agencies grants totaling $76,500 to address priorities in and around the Alto area. The Alto Economic Development Corporation received $35,000; the New Hope Youth Center received $21,500 and the Lufkin Adult Learning Center received $20,000. Grants are made possible by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and their Expanding Capacity Opportunities for Nonprofits (ECON) grant. Alto area priorities include health services to seniors and families; youth services and opportunities; and business development.
