50th wedding anniversary

k Deacon Ignacio and Martha Panuco of Rusk observed their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Oct. 9. Mr. and Mrs. Manuco were married Aug. 14, 1960, in Mexico. They moved to Rusk from Houston in 1984. At that time they opened the Mexico Patio in Jacksonville, a family owned and operated restaurant. Hosts for the party were their eight children, Maria O'Meara of Houston, Clemente Panuco of Rusk, Marcey Cook of LaPorte, Lupie Sims of Humble, Juana Panuco and Alejandra Salinas of Houston and Joe Panuco and Elisa Guillen of Jacksonville. They have 25 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and three more expected. Family and friends came from Florida, Mexico, Chicago, Houston, Nacogdoches, Rusk, Alto, Jacksonville, Mission and Brownfield.
