2 Cherokee County syrup mills

The Cherokee County Historical Commission window display this month features pictures of the Hulon Wilcox syrup mill near Rusk and a miniature replica of the Jay and Jimmy Spraggins mill at Mount Selman. Memorabilia from the Wilcox mill are displayed as well as pictures.The replica was made by Jason Minton, Jim and Janice Spraggins' grandson. Bernard Mayfield was fireman at the Spraggins mill. Historical commission members are from left Terry Guinn, Mavis Wallace and Elizabeth McCutcheon.
