Maj. Geishaker visits hometown before deployment

Maj. Jim Geishaker received a 24-hour leave before deployment to Afghanistan. The alumnus of Rusk High School and West Point Military Academy, walked around the square in Rusk last week and enjoyed the downtown decorations. He paused in front of JP Kwik Stop, which is where he met an Army recruiter in 1993 and launched his 18-year military career. Maj. Geishaker has served three tours in Iraq.
