John Birkelbach, a retired United Methodist minister, now a wood carver presents 102 crosses bearing dogwood blossoms to Rusk State Hospital Superintendent Ted Debbs, left, and Chaplain Floyd Simpson, right. The crosses will be given to hospital patients at the Good Friday and Easter morning services. The crosses were given in appreciation of the care hospital patients receive. "I have seen first hand the care and professionalism shown residents at Rusk State Hospital. I just wanted to do something to show my appreciation for the work done at the hospital," Mr. Birkelbach said.
