Winners of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 3406 essay writing contest have been announced. Ebony Griffin, left, is the winner of the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest for sixth, seventh and eighth graders. Her theme was "Does Patriotism Still Matter?" She was award a $50 savings bond. Callie Wallace, center, was the winner of the Voice of Democracy Essay contest. She wrote on the theme for high school students of "Does My Generation Have a Role in America's Future? She was awarded a $200 scholarship from the VFW and Auxiliary. Lucy Rhodes, president of the auxiliary, right, made the presentations.
