A chance encounter on 5th Street in Rusk recently gave Marie Whitehead, left, an opportunity to chat with out-of-towners. After her initial greeting of "I want one of those," the group warmed to her. They explained the motor tykes were Urals, a Russian three-wheeler made at the base of the Ural Mountains. From left are Mrs. Whitehead, Judy Thut of Pacific, Mo., and Al and Heather Loveman of St. Louis, Mo., who have camped at the Rusk State Park many times. The riders met at the KOA Camp. As the Tykes pulled away, Mrs. Whitehead commented, "As a Texas State Railroad Authority board member, it's exciting to me to see people who reflect the original purposes of 'resuscitating' the railroad. Not only is the railroad good for tourism, we are preserving the history of our area."
