TDCJ Sgt. Joe Alfred stands with his crew outside of Rusk Primary School, where the TDCJ work squad is installing six-foot chain-link fencing. Sgt. Alfred will retire from TDCJ on June 23 after 24 years of service. The squad averages six workers per day and will continue work on the campus through August 17.
