Independence Day was celebrated July 3 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Rusk. The sermon focused on Christian principles upon which the country was founded. Patriotic hymns were sung. Woodmen of the World presented a large U.S. flag to the congregation to honor those who have served in the armed forces. Hamburgers, hotdogs and trimmings were served.
