Strength of champions: 7 place at girls’ state powerlifting meet

Rusk's Ashley George (left) and Kylie Delaney pose prior to their performances in the girls' state powerlifting meet, held this past Saturday. George finished 15th in the 98-pound weight class, while Delaney finished 12th in the 181-pound weight class. In all, eight Cherokee County lifters - two from Rusk, one from Jacksonville and five from Troup - advanced to state, with seven placing.
