141 teachers honored during Jacksonville Teacher Appreciation

l Members of the Jacksonville Education Foundation honored eight teachers as teachers of the year. In front are Grace Traylor, Julianna Peacock, Freida Scully, Abbie Kelley (East Side), Ashley Rooks (Fred Douglass), Susan Vierkant (Nichols Intermediate), Barry Hughes and Shawn McRight. In back are Virgie Lacey (Compass Center), Jana McCall (West Side), Tammy Cross (JMS), Lisa King (Joe Wright) and Ben Peacock (JHS). Mr. Peacock and Mrs. Kelley were named JISD Secondary and Elementary Teacher of the Year, respectively.
