Street work is underway

A Drewery Construction crew from Nacogdoches works on re-topping Lone Oak Street, near Rusk Elementary School. Rusk Street Supervisor Neill Holcomb said Lone Oak Street was due work as part of the city's regular street maintenance plan. Sub-contracted road crews currently are working to resurface 12 other streets in Rusk. These include Castner, Schochler and Foreman streets. Cost of resurfacing the 12 streets is paid through a $275,000 state grant. "This grant helped us get several of our roads done sooner," Mr. Holcomb said.
