Metal was cast to make long blocks of lead called pigs to be used with the linotype machine. The metal was hooked to the typesetting machine and page forms were created. Hallene Thomson, Alma Wallace and Brenda Griffin examine a page created in metal to be loaded onto this Miehle Press. In the foreground is a photo taken when the press was taken apart for cleaning and repair.
