The Sons of Confederate Veterans Cross of Saint Andrew Camp of Cherokee County dedicated a new military veteran marker Wednesday, June 5, for Frederick W. Bain who served in the 48th Tennessee Infantry in the Confederate Army during the War between the States from 1861-65. He also had five brothers who also served. Private Bain moved to Texas after the war and died in Tyler in 1912. He is buried in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Private Bain is the ancestor of camp members Glyn and David Bomer. Troops in attendance to dedicate the new marker were from left, Marlin Hogue, Shelley Cleaver, David Bomer, Glyn Bomer and Kenneth McClure.
