30th anniversary

The Rev. and Mrs. John Birkelbach celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with an informal dinner party at Pam's Sweets Restaurant in Rusk. They were married Sept. 29, 1983, at the First United Methodist Church in Bellville, where the Rev. Birkelbach was pastor. Officiating at the marriage was the Rev. Elwood Birkelbach, father of the groom. Rev. and Mrs. Birkelbach are parents of six children, David, Phillip and Christianne Haydel of Texarkana, Mark Birkelbach of Nacogdoches, Michael Birkelbach of Rusk and Elaine Petterson of Wisconsin. They also have 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
