Harvey and Ella Mae Legendre Cotton of Rusk will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary Dec. 9. Both grew up in Saratoga. The attack on Pearl Harbor disrupted their original wedding plans when Mr. Cotton volunteered into the U.S. Army Air Corp. They were married in Topeka, Kan. Following the war they returned to Texas. He worked for an oil company and they lived in Houston, Winnie and Mont Belvieu prior to moving to Rusk when he retired in 1983. They are members of the Rusk First Baptist Church. They have four children, two sons and daughters-in-law in Rusk and St. Augustine; two daughters and a son-in-law in Houston and Dallas; 11 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.
