Rusk Police Chief Jamie Campbell stops to check his shoes for rocks. "These things are rough," he said in reference to the high heels. Chief Campbell participated in the "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" drive in Jacksonville April 12 to benefit the Anderson-Cherokee County Crisis Center. He raised $500 and more than $21,000 has beenraised in Jacksonville. Donations are still being received. Another walk was held in Palestine April 26 to benefit the crisis center. Donations for the Palestine event have not been tallied.
