ll Ceremonial shovels of dirt officially launched construction of the new West Side Elementary School in Jacksonville on Tuesday. The 68,000-square-foot school is approximately one month ahead of schedule and will take a year to complete. On hand to dedicate the $15 million facility were (from right) JISD Trustee Al Chavira, John Alexander, Assistant Superintendent Judy Terry, Trustee Cassie Devillier, Maintenance Director Olen Morton, Superintendent Dr. Joe Wardell, Board President Todd Travis, West Side Principal Sara Gill, Assistant Director of Business and Finance Lindy Finley, Board Vicepresident Jeff Horton, and former Trustees Jimmy Brown and James Houser.
