Donald Woodard of the Heritage Center of Cherokee County, left, and J. Frank Brunt show off guns loaned to the museum by the Brunt family. Mr. Brunt's father, the late Frank Brunt ,used the guns when he was sheriff of Cherokee County and later Smith County. The pistol, a Colt 38 Super 1911 model, was used in a shoot-out with a man at Wells in 1953. The rifle is a Winchester 30-30 model 94. Other memorabilia was also loaned.
