k More than 40 members of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce turned out for a ribbon cutting of the new Ivan Smith Furniture store. The location was formerly occupied by Bearden's Furniture. Ivan Smith, based in Shreveport, La., carries many name-brand furniture lines as well as major appliances. The Jacksonville location brings Ivan Smith to 43 store sites.
