Unemployment rates remain static for August

l Unemployment rates for Cherokee County and surrounding areas remained static from July to August, with several dropping only 0.1 or 0.2 percent and a few others, including Cherokee County, remaining the same. The state unemployment rate is 5.3 percent; the national rate is 6.1 percent.
