James Dawson, center, began his career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Correctional Officer in August 2000 on the Coffield Unit. He promoted to Sergeant on the Coffield Unit in February 2005 and to Sergeant on the Skyview/Hodge Complex in May 2009. He recently promoted to Lieutenant at the Skyview/Hodge Complex effective Feb. 15. From left are Major Amahdrick Christopher, Lt. Dawson and Major Charles Meador.
