Crosby man injured in 1-vehicle accident in Rusk

Zach Idom, 18, from Crosby was injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 69 in Rusk, near Fami's Food Mart. Mr. Idom was traveling southbound on the highway when his vehicle left the roadway and traveled through the grassy area between the Taco Bell drive-through and the parking lot of Fami's Food Mart, colliding with a road sign, a light pole and the support beam of the awning over the gas pumps. Oncor crews worked into Monday night repairing the light pole. Mr. Idom told the Cherokeean Herald reporter on the scene that he blacked out just prior to the accident.
