JISD superintendent Dr. Chad Kelly, Mark and Judith Cook and members of the Cook family as well as members of the Jacksonville School Board break ground on the site of what will become Howard Cook Field Thursday afternoon. The former Mauldin Field will undergo renovation thanks to a $1.25 million gift from the Mark and Judith Cook Foundation. The field will be renamed after Mr. Cook's father and will receive a new eight-lane track, lights and a turf playing field.
