The Cold Springs Methodist Church held their Sunday morning service underneath the church's outdoor pavilion after the April 29 tornado caused damage to the church building, including tearing the steeple from the roof. Cherokee County Judge and El Camino Real author Chris Davis said the congregation gave thanks to a "loving God that protected when so much property was destroyed."
