l Newsletter editor Susan Burch of Alto and President Kinney Polve of Minden, both of the East Texas Gem and Mineral Society, attended an authors' and editors' breakfast Aug. 9 in Baton Rouge, La.. Ms. Burch and Mr. Polve received awards and certificates for literary items entered into the South Central Federation of Mineral Societies and the American Federation of Mineral Societies annual contests.
