Will the line hold? Pipeline sections under scrutiny at state, federal level

A section of the TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline was excavated near Lake Stryker just over the Cherokee/Rusk County line on FM 839, three to four miles north of Reklaw. An eight foot section of a joint of pipe was replaced after inspection revealed a dent. The number of sections of pipe that have had to be replaced has been a cause of alarm for some, leading to questions on the pipeline's safety.
