The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce got "a first look" of Bacon Auto Country's new facilities on U.S. 69 north, near Love's Lookout on Monday. The 30,000-square-foot facility was completed on schedule and officially opened for business. Owner Britt Bacon called the relocation "a good move" because it will be the first thing southbound visitors see when they enter Jacksonville. The Bacon family has sold automobiles for almost 60 years. Other facilities include Bacon Chevrolet in Frankston, Bacon Autoplex in Palestine and Bacon Auto Ranch in Athens. The ribbon cutting was attended by more than 75 persons.
