JC ground breaking

Jacksonville College held a ground breaking ceremony Sept. 21 for new student housing at 330 Kickapoo Street. The plan is to build three separate one-story units. Each unit will comfortably house 20 students, for a total of 60 individuals. The site is located behind the Norman Library and next to the college's historic two-story Newburn-Rawlinson house. Participants in the ceremonies were from left, Dean of Students Ken Rawson; Board of Trustees members Steve Williams, Robbie Caldwell, Jan Brazier, Richard Smith and Greg Starr; President Mike Smith; Board members Ken Perkins, Tony Murray, James Schoenrock, Steven McCeig and Charlotte Johnson; Business Officer David Pittman; Board member Lee Welch, Academic Dean Lynn Nabi, Board member Jack Cook and architect Larry Lassiter.
