Rusk native Jennifer Dyess-Tyler and her husband, Kenny Tyler, recently participated in the sixth annual Surfside Beach Marathon and Half- Marathon in Surfside. Mrs. Dyess-Tyler finished the 26.2 mile run in 4:20 for a third place finish in her age group. Mr. Tyler finished ninth in his age group for the half-marathon, finishing with a time of 1:57. More than 1000 participants took part.
