A Citizenship Award from the City of Alto and the Police Department was presented to Venecia Thompson, who was unable to attend the Aug. 18 council meeting. Chief Jackson said, "Ms. Thompson found a wallet containing money several weeks prior to the meeting. She brought the wallet and all its money to city hall and I want to commend her for her honesty."
