Dr. Ray DeSpain, superintendent at Alto ISD, has been employed by Elkhart ISD. He will officially submit his resignation effective Jan. 3, 2012, and  begin duties in the similar position at Elkhart. The Alto school board is expected to call an emergency meeting on Jan. 2, 2012, to accept Dr.
