The Sept 1 Cherokeean Herald has an article telling of Rusk Independent School district spending $1,389,780 on the athletic field. We feel that in these hard economic times this money could be better spent. Our teachers could use raises. They are having to spend more of their own money to buy school supplies for students that cannot afford them.
