Graveside service for Imogene Kerzee, 89, of Jacksonville, was at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Point Enterprise Cemetery in Mexia, with Rev. Dale Jamerson officiating.
Mrs. Kerzee died Wednesday, May 12. She was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Limestone County to Lee and Jewel Hughes. She was the oldest of three children. She married Wayne W. Kerzee and they had three children, Wayneette, Wayne (Bud) and Mark.
Mrs. Kerzee had been a member of Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville since 1956. She graduated from Tomball High School, received her bachelor’s degree at Stephen F. Austin and her master’s degree at Southern Methodist University. She was a member of DAR and UDC. She taught history and English for Jacksonville ISD from 1963-80.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Kerzee in 2005; parents, Lee and Jewel Hughes; sister, Virginia Robinson; and brother, Walter Hughes.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne (Bud) and Myra Kerzee of Henderson and Mark and Debbie Kerzee of Jacksonville; a daughter, Waynette Wielke of Houston; six grandchildren, Tommy Kerzee, Steve Kerzee, Kelley Halls, Kristin Reynolds, Lee Pervis and Carl Pervis; and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tommy Kerzee, Steve Kerzee, Warren Holt, Neil Holt, Austin Kerzee and Tristan Kerzee.
Arrangements were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.
