2 men arrested in Reklaw murders

The Rusk County Sheriff’s office arrested two suspects last weekend in connection with the Jan. 25 shooting death of Rigoberto Tovar Pina, 29; and Steve Abran Parra, 27. The incident occurred on Rusk County Road 4248 in the Fairview community, northeast

of Reklaw.

Arrested and charged were Drake Dario Blanton, 23, and Jason Terell Hunt, 24, of South Rusk County. However, Mr. Hunt had previously resided in Jacksonville.

Bond was set at $1 million for both suspects. Both men were arraigned before Justice of the Peace Seth Stein, Rusk County Precinct 3, Saturday morning.

A 1996 green Cadillac stolen prior to the murder has been recovered in South Rusk County, and is being processed to obtain additional evidence.

Sheriff Danny R. Pirtle said, “I appreciate the professional approach of all agencies involved and the way all agencies worked together to solve this case. The determination and dedication of everyone involved in this case, the goal to clear our neighborhoods of criminal activity has been achieved.”

Sheriff Pirtle, said the Rusk County sheriff’s office, Rusk County district attorney’s office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers, Federal Bureau of Investigation, ATF and Rusk County Precinct 4 Constable, were involved in the investigation.
