Stephanie Denson-Aills participates in 72nd annual Gilmer Yamboree
      Stephanie Ann Denson-Aills, a Rusk High School senior, participated in the 72nd Annual Yamboree in Gilmer, Oct.15-17. She represented Rusk High School and was in the queen’s coronation Oct. 15 and the queen’s parade at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. She rode in a 1941Cadillac convertible belonging to Betty and Lewis Cox of Alto.

Conviction is upheld
      The Cherokee County burglary conviction of Donald Wayne Young was upheld Oct. 8 by the 14th Court of Appeals. Mr. Young was sentenced by a jury to 11 years confinement in Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the crime on June 2, 2008. The state was represented at the trial and on the appeal by Cherokee County District Attorney Elmer C. Beckworth Jr.
