Jacksonville Class of 1979 hosts reunion
Attending were members of the classes of 1973-84.
The Legacy hosted the first multi-class reunion bash for Jacksonville High School on Saturday, Sept. July 25. The event was sponsored by the JHS graduating class of 1979 in celebration of its 30th anniversary. Attending were members of the classes of 1973-84. One of the highlights of the evening was a theatrical reading by Cordell Adams, a 1979 alumnus and author of “Light Bread.” The reading was followed with a powerpoint presentation that honored the memory of deceased classmates. A slate of humorous awards were voted on by attendees and presented to the “winners” in a lighthearted segment later that evening. Toward the end of the evening, alumni filed out of The Legacy to the sounds of “Cherokee” and “The Notre Dame Victory March” to a venue outdoors where the school song was played while a miniature replica of the traditional “Flaming J” was set on fire. |
